America
arrived at the children’s home in October 2002. She was in a government
orphanage and came to us through social services. She had no family who
could care for her, and is one of our few children available for
adoption. At one time she lived with her mom and her grandmother, but
they never cared for her or her younger siblings. They neglected to
send America to school and failed to teach her even basic things. She
is now attending a special school and has learned to read and write and
is while she is very much behind, she is diligent and keeps working.
America is a very loving girl and yearns for a family of her own. She
would like to be a nurse some day. She has made a commitment to the
Lord, and is involved in various activities in the church each week. JOSE ALFREDO
