We started our activity here in February of 2004 with the purpose of helping boys in high-risk situations. There is a capacity for 14 children, and it is located in the city of Guzman. When these children are showing changes in their lives, they then are incorporated in the school.

CHRISTIAN ARIEL GUZMAN SOLAR
April 4th, 1989     Inicio

ArielChristian joined the group at Casa Samuel in August 2005. He came to us through Social Services after he had been apprehended for stealing a watch, but was later found innocent.

Christian was born in Colima, but went to the United States with his parents at a young age.  While there, his mother died when he was four years old.  His father remarried two years later and began another family where Christian didn’t fit in.  Searching for acceptance, he began to act out, getting tattoos and eventually joined a gang.  At the age of 15, he was sent to live with a cousin in Colima where he promptly began to hang around with the same type of friends, thus resulting in the watch incident.

Christian found the adjustment to the home quite difficult, but once he learned to accept the love of God and talk about his past hurts, he found healing, and now has a promising future to look forward to.

Alvin

Alvin is living in the Casa Samuel, our home in Ciudad Guzman.  His family situation was hugely lacking as a safe place for Alvin and as a result he was suffering emotional problems that resulted in his acting out.

Alvin`s progress in the home has been slow but steady.  He has asked Jesus into his heart and now his mom is attending some of the meetings for ladies in the church.  Alvin enjoys riding a bike in his spare time, and in spite of his past problems, he is always seen with a smile on his face.

Alvin now has new hope for the future since he has given his life to the Lord.  We look forward to seeing his progress.

JOVANNY BELTRÁN GARCIA
December 23rd, 1995
Inicio

JoJovannyvanny came to live in Casa Samuel because of family problems.  His dad abandoned the family and from the time he was little, Jovanny had been mistreated by his mom.  Jovanny then went to live with his grandma and developed a very rebellious attitude.  He started to hang around with boys older than him and was getting into trouble.  He was traumatized when one of his cousins was murdered and burned, and would wake up at night screaming “I don’t want to be burned”.    We received Jovanny when his grandma came to us for help.

In the time that Jovanny has been in the home, he has accepted the Lord into his heart.  The first time that his mom came to visit him, she couldn’t believe the changes in him.  Once she saw the positive changes in her son, she too began to investigate the things of the Lord.

 JOSE ERNESTO LOPEZ JIMENEZ

DECEMBER 14, 1998    Inicio

Ernesto arrived at the children`s home in July 2009.  He is living in the Casa Samuel, our home for boys in Ciudad Guzman.

Ernesto is with us because he has no family.  He had been living with some people in Guadalajara, but they didn`t want him there anymore so he was placed in an orphanage in Guadalajara.  Social Services approached us to take Ernesto because he was not receiving adequate care.

Ernesto was a difficult young man to have around when he first came.  Thankfully the Lord is working in his life, and we have seen positive changes in Ernesto.  We know that if Ernesto takes to heart all that he is learning, that there is lots of hope for his future.

Inicio

Oscar was already 16 years old when he arrived at the children`s home in October 2009.  He is in the Casa Samuel with his younger brother José Luis.

The boys are with us because their mom had died and their father abandoned them.  The brothers are anxious to be able to stay together.

As can be imagined, it was difficult for Oscar  to conform to the rhythm and rules of the home at 16 years old, but he has putting forth a good effort.  We know that as he understands about God`s love and promises for him, Oscar will have the opportunity of a much brighter future.

FERNANDO OLIVARES ESQUEDA

April 8th, 1997 Inicio

Fernando came to live in the Casa Samuel, our home in Ciudad Guzman in August 2009.

Fernando is with us because he doesn`t have any family.  He had suffered violence in some of the other places he had lived.   He ended up in an orphanage in Guadalajara but they were unable to meet Fernando`s emotional needs.

Fernando is making huge advances.  He has learned to read and write and loves school.  He was very reluctant to talk to us at first, but now joins in on the conversations between the other boys.  Fernando has a lot of things to overcome from his past, but his hope is in Jesus, the One who is able to bring healing and promise.

DAVID JIBRAN GUTIÉRREZ FAJARDO

Inicio

David JibranJibran arrived at our home “Casa Samuel”, in Ciudad Guzman in October 2007.  He is with us because his parents divorced, and when left alone, he would venture out into the streets.  He was expelled from school, and was under medical treatment to control his outbursts.  There was also economic need in the home, and at times they didn’t have anything to eat.

Since Jibran arrived, we have seen very positive changes in his life.  He has not taken any medication since he arrived and his behavior has greatly improved.  He is secure in knowing that his needs are provided for.  We know that the Lord has great things in store for this young man.

RafaelRafael arrived at our boy’s home in Ciudad Guzman in April 2008.   He is with us because his dad is in prison and his mom was unable to support the family.  At just a young age, Rafael began to rebel and would be out in the streets until 12 or 1:00 a.m.  He began to experiment with drugs and his life was at risk out in the streets.

Rafael likes to play video games, swim, and play soccer.  He is working hard at school.  We know that God has a purpose for this boy’s life, and that Rafael will have hope for the future as he trusts in the Lord.

Inicio

Jairo AaronJairo arrived at our home in Ciudad Guzman in July 2007, along with his older brother Jair Alejandro.  The boys have different fathers, and their mother’s work was not a good example to her two impressionable boys.  There wasn’t enough money, and at times the boys went to school hungry.  They began to spend a lot of time in the streets.

Jairo has been doing well since he entered the home.  He has gained weight, and enjoys the company of the other boys.  There is always someone around to play soccer with!  His mom has started attending church and has left her former lifestyle.  We know that these boys are not with us by accident, and that God has a special plan for their lives.

Inicio

Adrian DavidDavid arrived at out boys home “Casa Samuel”, in Ciudad Guzman in February 2007.  He comes from a very dysfunctional family.  David and his two younger sisters lived with their mother.  His father is a substance abuser, and would visit the children very infrequently.  David’s mother asked that we receive him, because even though she worked long hours, she was not able to earn enough to feed her family, much less provide for their schooling.
David is studying at the junior high level and doing very well.  He likes musical instruments, table games and likes to listen to music.  His mom has started attending church and is doing better.

He is relieved to be in a place where he is being taken care of, although he is concerned for his mom’s welfare, and is hoping that she will seek help. JOEL PATIÑO JAIMES

July 22nd, 1994  Inicio

Joel joined the crew at Casa Samuel in January 2006.  He loves to listen to music and play soccer.

Joel’s parents separated and he was living with his father.  His father began a new family, and Joel felt that he was unwanted.  He would skip out of school and not do any homework.  He was very rebellious.

From the time he arrived with us, he has been very open to the things of the Lord.  He enters in to praise and worship with joy.  He is doing well in school, and his parents are very happy to see the changes in him.  He is actually completing two school years in one this year to bring him up to where he should be academically.
