CHRISTIAN ARIEL GUZMAN SOLAR
April 4th, 1989 Inicio
Christian
joined the group at Casa Samuel in August 2005. He came to us through Social
Services after he had been apprehended for stealing a watch, but was later
found innocent.
Christian was born in Colima, but went to the United States with his parents at a
young age. While there, his mother died
when he was four years old. His father
remarried two years later and began another family where Christian didn’t fit
in. Searching for acceptance, he began
to act out, getting tattoos and eventually joined a gang. At the age of 15, he was sent to live with a
cousin in Colima where he promptly began to hang around with the same type of
friends, thus resulting in the watch incident.
Christian found the adjustment to the home quite difficult, but once he
learned to accept the love of God and talk about his past hurts, he found
healing, and now has a promising future to look forward to.
ELI ALVIN LARA
RAMIREZJanuary 7th, 1995 Inicio
“Alvin” is living in the
Casa Samuel because of problems in his family situation. His mom is a single mom who works long hours
in the bus station. He has a younger
sister and a brother with cerebral palsy.
His mom struggles to make ends meet, and lives with a man so that he
helps pay some of the bills. Alvin is a boy who is
full of fear and even has a nervous tic in his left eye. Since he has been in the home, we are seeing
slow progress in him. He has received
Jesus in his heart and loves to sing worship songs. His mom has begun to attend special ladies’
meetings and attending church when her work allows. We trust that as both mother and son are
seeking the Lord, that He will bring great changes to this family.
JOVANNY BELTRÁN GARCIA
December 23rd,
1995 Inicio
Jovann
y came to live in Casa
Samuel because of family problems. His
dad abandoned the family and from the time he was little, Jovanny had been
mistreated by his mom. Jovanny then went
to live with his grandma and developed a very rebellious attitude. He started to hang around with boys older
than him and was getting into trouble.
He was traumatized when one of his cousins was murdered and burned, and
would wake up at night screaming “I don’t want to be burned”. We received Jovanny when his grandma came
to us for help.
In the time that Jovanny has
been in the home, he has accepted the Lord into his heart. The first time that his mom came to visit
him, she couldn’t believe the changes in him.
Once she saw the positive changes in her son, she too began to
investigate the things of the Lord.
CARLOS
EDUARDO AMEZCUA ORNELAS
December
30th, 1995 Inicio

Carlos came
to live in the Casa Samuel in January 2006.
He came to us because he had taken a very aggressive attitude towards
his mom, his family, and everyone around him.
He was rebellious in every area and his grades had dropped at school, to
the point that he was expelled. His dad
is in the United States
and he was very angry about that.
We worked
with Carols for six months before we were able to put him into school. We see the Lord working in his life and he is
making positive changes. His family is
surprised. He enjoys bible classes and
now that he has returned to school he is working hard and his grades are
excellent. His family is very grateful
for all that the Lord has done in his life.
JOEL PATIÑO JAIMES
July
22nd, 1994 Inicio
Joel joined
the crew at Casa Samuel in January 2006.
He loves to listen to music and play soccer.
Joel’s
parents separated and he was living with his father. His father began a new family, and Joel felt
that he was unwanted. He would skip out
of school and not do any homework. He
was very rebellious.
From the
time he arrived with us, he has been very open to the things of the Lord. He enters in to praise and worship with
joy. He is doing well in school, and his
parents are very happy to see the changes in him. He is actually completing two school years in
one this year to bring him up to where he should be academically.
FRANCISCO
JAVIER GARCIA OSORIO
February
24th, 1992 Inicio
When Francisco arrived he was
bitter towards God because his sister had been beaten to death by her boyfriend
and people had said that it was unfair what had happened to his sister and
blamed it on God. However, we have seen
the hand of the Lord working in Francisco’s life. He attended an Encounter weekend and we have
seen positive changes in his character.
Francisco has a learning
disability and is illiterate. However,
he is very interested in learning the trades that are being taught to him in
the home. He is learning to plaster and
do iron work.
ENRIQUE
GARCIA OSORIO
May 1st,
1991 Inicio
Enrique and his younger brother Francisco arrived
at the boys training center “Casa Nueva Esperanza” through a placement by
social services.
Enrique arrived with a lot of
fear and mistrust in his life. His
sister had been beaten to death by her boyfriend and this event had affected
Enrique in a very negative way. As he
has begun to trust the Lord, he is leaving his depression and fears behind and
now is a happy young man who loves to learn more about God.
Enrique has a severe learning
disability and is illiterate, but it is our hope that he will be able to learn
the trades that are being taught him. He
is presently being taught both iron work and plastering.
BRIAN EDUARDO
MONTEZ DE LA CRUZ
September 8th,
1988 Inicio
Brian arrived at our boy’s home in Ciudad Guzman on May 5th, 2008. He is with us because his mom was unable to
support him. Brian would be left alone
while his mom went to work, and when she would arrive back home, he would be
out in the streets. At times it would
take a long time before she was able to find Brian.
Brian has some learning disabilities that made him
more vulnerable to people taking advantage of him, and have also made his
education more of a challenge. He likes
to play with little cars and kick a ball around. We are trusting the Lord that as we work with
Brian, that He will allow Brian to be able to learn - especially about the love
of Jesus that is so important for this boy’s life.
DAVID JIBRAN GUTIÉRREZ FAJARDO
October 1st, 1998 Inicio
Jibran arrived at our home “Casa Samuel”, in Ciudad
Guzman in October 2007. He is with us
because his parents divorced, and when left alone, he would venture out into
the streets. He was expelled from
school, and was under medical treatment to control his outbursts. There was also economic need in the home, and
at times they didn’t have anything to eat.
Since Jibran arrived, we have seen very positive
changes in his life. He has not taken
any medication since he arrived and his behavior has greatly improved. He is secure in knowing that his needs are
provided for. We know that the Lord has
great things in store for this young man.
HERIBERTO ALCAREZ CEJA

Heriberto came to live at our home “Casa Samuel” in
Ciudad Guzman on January 5th, 2008. He had previously lived in the
children’s home in Colima, but left when he was adopted. For various reasons,
the adoption didn’t work out, and Heriberto was returned to the home.l
Heriberto has many obstacles to overcome. It has
been very difficult for him to return to the home. We know that it is only by
the grace of God and by His healing in Heriberto’s heart, that Heri will be
able to overcome the things of his past. Heriberto enjoys listening to music,
playing soccer, swimming, and playing video games .
RAFAEL CANDELA SOLÓRZANO
October 29th, 1999 Inicio
Rafael arrived at our boy’s home in Ciudad Guzman in
April 2008. He is with us because his
dad is in prison and his mom was unable to support the family. At just a young age, Rafael began to rebel
and would be out in the streets until 12 or 1:00 a.m. He began
to experiment with drugs and his life was at risk out in the streets.
Rafael likes to play video games, swim, and play
soccer. He is working hard at school. We know that God has a purpose for this boy’s
life, and that Rafael will have hope for the future as he trusts in the Lord.
JAIRO AARÓN VILLALVAZO FIGUEROA
May 18th, 2000 Inicio
Jairo arrived at our home in Ciudad Guzman in July
2007, along with his older brother Jair Alejandro. The boys have different fathers, and their
mother’s work was not a good example to her two impressionable boys. There wasn’t enough money, and at times the
boys went to school hungry. They began
to spend a lot of time in the streets.
Jairo has been doing well since he entered the
home. He has gained weight, and enjoys
the company of the other boys. There is
always someone around to play soccer with!
His mom has started attending church and has left her former lifestyle. We know that these boys are not with us by
accident, and that God has a special plan for their lives.
ADRIAN DAVID
ACOSTA RODRIGUEZ
March 2nd,
1995 Inicio
David arrived at out boys home “Casa Samuel”, in
Ciudad Guzman in February 2007. He comes
from a very dysfunctional family. David
and his two younger sisters lived with their mother. His father is a substance abuser, and would
visit the children very infrequently.
David’s mother asked that we receive him, because even though she worked
long hours, she was not able to earn enough to feed her family, much less
provide for their schooling.
David is studying at the junior high level and doing
very well. He likes musical instruments,
table games and likes to listen to music.
His mom has started attending church and is doing better.
JOSUE DIAZ SOSA
December 1st,
1992 Inicio Inicio
Josué came to us in August 2004. He had been living with his mom but they were
very poor. At times there was money for
food and other times there wasn’t. Josué
had become somewhat rebellious, and would occasionally stay out all night with
his friends.
Josué had finished elementary school, but his mom could no longer afford
to send him to school. He was sad at the
thought of no longer being able to study.
In the year following Josue’s arrival, his family situation has seen
great changes. His mom spent a training time in the Casa Belen, and is now
working in the children’s home. His two
sisters, Liz and Gorreti, have also been part of the children’s home. Liz has completed her time at the teen girl’s
home and now has a job, and Goretti is in the preschool home. Josue is currently in our home in Ciudad
Guzman, and is able to make frequent visits to be with his mom and sisters. The Lord not only changed Josue’s situation,
but also his heart, and has given him a hope for the future.
RENE GUADALUPE VÁZQUEZ HERRERA
February 3rd, 1998 Inicio
Rene
is living in our home “Casa Samuel”, in Ciudad Guzman. He arrived in September
2008. He and his little sister were taken away from their mom because their
safety was in question. His sister is in another children’s home.
Rene has shown great advances since he arrived.
He is working hard at school. Rene loves to play soccer and table games. He is relieved
to be in a place where he is being taken care of, although he is concerned for
his mom’s welfare, and is hoping that she will seek help. We believe that Rene
is with us for a purpose, and that the Lord has a great plan for this young
man’s life.
Jair Alejandro
Hernandez Figueroa
December 6, 1993 Inicio
Jair arrived at Casa Samuel
on May 15, 2007. Jair likes soccer,
basketball, table games (like Sequence), the beach, animals, pizza, pop, and
all three Shrek movies.
Jair has one older sister,
one younger brother and one younger sister.
His mom’s work did not provide a good atmosphere for raising
children. Sometimes he would go to
school without having eaten at all. Jair
started to misbehave and skip school. He
fought a lot with his classmates and friends.
Jair´s mom started to seek
God and came to the Grupo Amor church here in Ciudad Guzman where Israel is the
pastor. Praise God she has left her
former lifestyle and has chosen a new life in Christ! She has taken a job selling bread for another
member of the church who is a baker.
